child harvest

Would you like to start growing your own food at home, but don’t know where to start?

We build, install and maintain individual and family-sized produce farms for your backyard, deck, driveway or rooftop. These raised-bed vegetable gardens can be as small as 4′x8′, and will supply you with an abundance of fresh, chemical-free produce year-round. Raised-beds include drip irrigation, plants and seeds to get you started, high-quality soil, and initial set-up. Beds can be placed anywhere that receives 41/2 hours or more of sunlight (with a limited planting selection), but 6+ hours is ideal. A backyard vegetable garden brings produce straight from your yard to the dinner table!

Your Vegetable Garden is a place where you can grow fresh, chemical-free produce for your family, learn how vegetables grow, and try interesting and heirloom varieties that aren’t widely available at the market. We can also maintain the farm for you, so you don’t have to get your hands dirty*!

*or because you have 3 kids you drive to soccer practice, ballet, karate and school everyday; or because of long hours at your job; or because that “Black Thumb” of yours doesn’t seem to be getting any greener.

Maintenance

Maintenance visits can be scheduled to be at a time when you, your family, and your children are home. GCG Maintenance farmers are trained to educate and engage with you around growing food and maintaining a successful vegetable garden. GCG will also send you email updates as to the work we do on your site, and can train you to know when to harvest for when we’re not around.

Maintenance includes all plants and seeds, natural fertilizers, organic pest/fungal management, and any relevant horticultural materials that are needed to keep your garden looking great.

We offer a diverse selection of raised-bed sizes and designs. From one-time consultations to bi-weekly, hands-off maintenance, or hands-on education, GCG’s comprehensive services will help you get growing, not matter what your skill level or budget.
